Pure Reality Studios aim to bring recording to bands who can't necessarily afford to go to bigger studios, not just due to studio costs, but also logistical costs (travel and transport of gear). The prices are not set in stone, I can negotiate on these, and also if a project is more complex than a usual project, then we will have to agree a price on this too. However, for most bands, these prices are applicable. Recording Costs I run at a rate of £30 per track. This entails 4 hours of recording per track, and 1 hour of mixing. Anything over this will cost £10 an hour for recording, and £8 an hour for mixing. Travel Costs In the event of me travelling to you on this, rather than a joint meet somewhere, or even coming to my house or rehearsal room, then costs will be added for travel based upon location. Within the Rotherham area - No extra cost Within the Sheffield area - £5 extra cost Within the Barnsley area - £10 extra cost Anywhere not in these areas - £1 a mile All of these costs include mixing and mastering. As mentioned, the complexity of the project will change the costs. For example, if a full album is required, then more time will be needed for mixing and mastering, as well as more consultation with who has been recorded. Also, with bands involving more than about 6 or 7 instruments, extra costs will have to be involved simply due to the time it will take to record and mix. Similarly, a singer/songwriter wanting just acoustic guitar and vocals recorded will not be subject to the full costs. If you require more information, visit the Contact Us page and get in touch.
